Chocolate Cream

This is raw – this is delicious – Its one of my favorite sweet treat, easy to prepare, ready in minutes, with no pre-soaking required.

Serves:  2 / Ingredients

30 g cacao nibs, ground (or grounded organic cacao powder)

1 large avocado

1 banana

1 medjool date

1 tbsp agave nectar

1 tbsp hemp oil (or whatever “taste-neutral” oil you have available)

30 g carob powder

Instructions

Grind your cacao in a coffee grinder or high power blender.

Slice the avocado in half and remove the pit and scoop out the flesh with a spoon, straight into the blender. Break the peeled banana into quarters, and add to the blender. Remove the stone from the date and pop it in the blender too. Add the remaining ingredients.

If you haven’t got cacao, you can use double carob powder instead; it won’t give you the same chocolate hit, will it will taste nearly as divine.

Turn the blender on (hand blender will do too), and start whizzing. If your blender has difficulties, you can add some water until it starts turning over. Keep it turning for a minute to make sure its really smooth and creamy.

Spoon out into two serving bowls; decorate with carob chips, goji berries or slices of fresh fruits.

Everyone loves the chocolate that loves you back !

Anti Aging Properties of Avocados

The avocado is a wonder food when it comes to anti aging and longevity. First of all, besides avocados being delicious they are filled with all sorts of great nutrients that help your body make repairs and live longer. Here’s just a short list:

Oleic Acid: This is a healthy fat that many believe can be used to lower bad cholesterol while increasing good cholesterol.

Potassium:   A cup of avocados contains about 25% of your daily supply of potassium. Potassium helps protect your heart and arteries and could reduce the risk of high blood pressure and stroke.

Folate:  Folate is a great micronutrient and the same cup of avocado contains around 23% of the folate you need each day. People who get the right amount of folate have a decreased risk of heart attacks (by as much as 55%).

Antioxidants:  Avocados are a rich source of antioxidants. These substances help your body fight off damage from free radicals. This protects your organs and tissues from damage over time.

Just remember to consider the calories (a cup of avocados has about 235 calories).

Enjoy !
