About Me : Petra Palmer

My name is Petra Palmer and I am the founder of Anjaly Personal Training, certified as Holistic Health Coach and Yoga Teacher. I received my training at the Institute for Integrative Nutrition in New York, which is the worlds largest nutrition school and the only one integrating all the different dietary theories—combining the knowledge of traditional philosophies with modern concepts. I am certified by the American Association of Drugless Practitioners (AADP).

Here are 10 Questions people most often ask me.

What is Anjaly?

Anjaly is a small company, offering personalized lifestyle and nutrition coaching – as well as Yoga courses – to individuals and families with limited time and irregular lifestyles. I help people struggling to find balance between their busy lives and everyday commitments and their desire to experience a sustainable and enjoyable transformation without Yo-Yo effects.

What have you done before and why did you change?

I was successfully working in a corporate environment as a Manager. Over the  years I was more and more struggling as my desire to be at my best at work came in conflict with me loosing balance in the other parts of my life. When I got severely sick I understood that my priorities setting needed a shift and that I would like to do something more meaningful.

Why Yoga and Nutrition?

Both topics interest me since a very long time. I started Yoga in 1998 during my first travel through India and it accompanies me since. And  probably just as for you my mom always told me how important it is to eat healthy – not that you always listen to your parents, even when they tell you good things.

Yoga, healthy food, adjusted lifestyle, supporting relationships and positive thoughts helped me tremendously through my own healing process. Afterwards it was very clear for me, that I want to share my experience and knowledge with others and help them to improve their health and overall well-being.

Why have you chosen a nutrition school in New York?

I was looking for an established school, which teaches the latest und most updated findings on nutrition and health, presented by internationally known guest speakers, combining a holistic approach. Additionally they offered online studies, all of that was perfect for me.

Who are your clients?

Basically people of different ages, from all walks of life who want to live a more balanced life, or to get rid of stress- and sleeping and/or weight problems.  Most of the time all of these problems are linked. Specifically and through my own experience I feel the need in supporting people out of corporate business – I can easily put myself if their shoes – I understand their desires and challenges and I know I can help them.

Why do you coach via Skype?

With my clients we agree, whether we want to meet in person and how often. However, nowadays time is limited and precious. Skype is an easy and flexible communication tool  – to be used without leaving the office or home and it works even during travel. And I can reach people all over the world – that’s excellent.

What is your biggest personal challenge?

To constantly “walk the talk”. In former times I only cooked occasionally and I never liked cooking very much. Now I prepare fresh meals about three times a day. Not because I always enjoy it but because I am convinced it is better for my husband and me to eat fresh, local and seasonal food. I do improve and become more creative in my cooking style but yes, sometimes I ask my husband to get some take-away Sushi.

Is it all that serious or do you allow yourself “sins”?

I am far from perfect and I have my weak moments. But in general I try to adapt a 90/10 ratio – sometimes it works, sometimes not. I love sweets and chocolate and if I eat them, I enjoy it. I don’t believe that guilt is supportive.

How is your life today?

I love what I am doing, I can combine my passions and other interests such as spending quality time with my husband, being in the nature, traveling and continuous studying.  I enjoy the warmhearted connection with my clients and the fact that I learn a lot of each of them.  My life is balanced and I am absolutely happy, healthy and fulfilled.

Anything else you want to tell me?

Anjaly is about you and your well-being. You need to be ready and committed about the change you want to make to your life. It might be about making a few small yet productive adjustments to your daily routine. Or it may be about opening up to improving your lifestyle in a more <radical> manner to achieve a faster and complete transformation. Whatever it is, I will be happy to help you at the pace you are comfortable with, as long as you are committed and ready.

Happiness & Vitality to you !
